Shell Fragment

This painting is about 18 x 18 inches. It is painted on canvas and I've used glazing and dry brush to get a transparent effect and for a solidity, or opacity.

I've been making art since childhood. Then it was just for fun and to keep my mind off of other things. Now, I guess it's the same. Art makes me a better person. It takes me into my core and keeps me there for long periods of time. When I'm finished working for the day, I feel more complete, more grounded, more available for the rest of my life.
